Since October 12, 2026, Grok Bot is sold as part of The X Subscription. New sign-ups get Bot access from the Premium plan at $30 a month; the $8 Plus plan does not include it. If you already pay for Cursor, SuperGrok or X Premium+, your current plan keeps working until you choose to switch.

Grok Bot pricing: The X Subscription plans

Already paying for Cursor, SuperGrok or X Premium+?

Cursor’s help page still lists the accounts that carry Bot access on the older plans: Cursor Pro, Pro+ and Ultra, self-serve Cursor Teams, and a linked individual SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy or X Premium+ account. SuperGrok Lite does not qualify. A link is permanent and cannot be moved to another Cursor account; plans and links do not stack, and Bot uses whichever grants more weekly usage. Before you switch, check four things:
- It is one-way. A completed switch is permanent and Support cannot undo it.
- The refund is separate. The old subscription is cancelled with a prorated refund, while the new plan is charged in full at checkout. The refund can take a few days to appear.
- Apple billing is not cancelled for you. A Cursor plan bought through the App Store has to be cancelled in iPhone or iPad Settings, and any refund comes from Apple.
- Third-party models stop being included. Current Cursor plans keep their included third-party model usage until they switch. After that, those models are paid from prepaid credit from the first use.

The announcement says remaining customers will eventually be moved to the new plans with advance notice, and gives no timeline. Annual subscribers keep their paid term to its end date.
One weekly pool, shared with Grok and Cursor

For budgeting, try three representative jobs—one short lookup, one document task and one longer workflow—and compare the usage view before and after each. Computer-use steps and long routines draw more than a quick question, so measure the work you actually plan to run.
What happens when the weekly pool runs out?
You can wait for the weekly reset or pay for Additional Usage from prepaid top-up credit. Third-party models in Cursor are never part of the pool and use that credit from the first call. Extra usage ↗
- Auto Top Up is off by default. It runs only after you enable it, and switching plans does not turn it on.
- The monthly cap is separate from your balance. Leaving the cap unset means no cap. Adding credit does not raise the cap, so usage can stop at the cap while credit remains.
- Top-up prices are shown in the product. The help pages we reviewed do not list top-up amounts or say whether credit expires, so we have not quoted either.

Is Grok Bot free? Is there a trial?
The app is a free download, but the Free and Plus plans do not include Bot usage. The X Subscription pages we reviewed do not describe a Grok Bot trial.
Cursor’s help page still documents a trial for accounts on its plans: a consumable usage credit with a seven-day window, not seven days of unlimited use. Which Grok Bot plan should you choose?
- New and you want Bots: Premium is the lowest tier that includes them. Paying annually is $300, about $25 a month.
- On an eligible older plan: nothing forces a move. Because switching is permanent, compare first, especially if you rely on included third-party models in Cursor.
- Running out every week: Super’s pool is 3.75 times Premium’s for about 3.3 times the price, and Ultra’s is 12.5 times for about 6.7 times the price. That is our arithmetic from the published multiples. Compare it with what you would spend on top-ups.
- Buying for a team: pools are per seat, so put heavy users on a higher tier and set a monthly cap on the shared balance.
