Plans and billing

The largest change this month is commercial. New sign-ups now get Bot access through The X Subscription from the $30 Premium plan, and Bot usage draws on one weekly pool shared with Grok and Cursor. Existing Cursor, SuperGrok and X Premium+ plans continue until you choose to switch, and switching cannot be undone. Our pricing guide has the plan table and the checks to make before you switch.

Shopping and payments: how approval works

A Bot can research a product and place the order, but the documented payment path keeps you in the loop. When a Bot wants to buy something, a card shows the amount for you to Allow or Deny, and Link completes the payment (0.30.0, August 28). Pay with lets you choose a saved card from your Link wallet (0.33.0, September 1). A purchase you decline stays Declined and an unanswered one is marked Expired (0.35.0, September 2). Changelog ↗

Where a site needs a payment or identity check, the Bot can ask you to take over its computer for that step. The documentation advises against pasting passwords or one-time codes into the conversation. Computer and apps ↗

Our suggestions for a first order:

  • Keep card numbers and card photos out of the chat. Use the approval card and a saved payment method instead.
  • Before choosing Allow, check the amount, the seller, the delivery address and whether the price includes shipping and tax.
  • Start with a low-value item, and ask the Bot to stop and report before checkout if the total differs from what you expected.

Email: from drafts to a Bot inbox

Email handling changed in steps over five weeks:

  • September 8 (0.45.0): a Bot writes an email or Slack message as a draft for you to Send or Discard.
  • September 26 (0.60.0): editable drafts work with Outlook.
  • September 30 (0.64.0): a draft card offers Disable drafts for this Bot, after which that Bot sends directly. Ask the Bot to turn drafts back on.
  • October 5 (0.68.0): drafts can go out from a verified Gmail send-as address, with a From picker.
  • October 7 (0.68.1): formatted emails with headings, bold text and lists; Bots can search Gmail Spam and move a message back to the inbox.

Changelog ↗

On October 9 the Grok Bot account announced that a Bot can have its own email address. To claim an inbox, ask your Bot or tag @bot on X; on a team, an admin has to enable it first. How to claim it ↗

We suggest leaving drafts on for anything sent outside your organization until you have reviewed a few weeks of a Bot’s output.

X search, monitoring and tagging @bot

Bots can search and read public X content without a connected account: posts, an account’s posts and mentions, quotes and reposts, post counts and trends. That access is read-only and does not sign in as you. For direct messages, bookmarks, your home timeline or likes, add the X plugin from Connect apps and sign in with X. X access ↗

You can also tag @bot in a post or reply to hand that post to your Bot as a task. @bot posts only a short confirmation; the work and its results stay in the Bot’s conversation in the app. A tagged request uses your Bot usage, and nothing is returned once your weekly usage is used up. Tag @bot on X ↗

  • Connect your X account on grok.com under Settings → Account, on the Grok account that has Bot access.
  • You need at least one Bot you created. A Bot someone shared with you cannot take tagged requests.
  • Tagging is not available for accounts based in Australia, the UK, the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway.
  • Posts with a video or GIF are ignored.

Slides, proactive help, Projects and Team Bots

  • Slide decks (0.68.1): a Bot builds a deck with you, shows sample slides to choose from and delivers PowerPoint files or Google Slides.
  • Proactive suggestions (0.66.0): your primary Bot, marked with a star, spots work it can take on and offers to handle it. Requires Grok Bot 0.59.0 or later.
  • Projects (0.57.0, September 18): a Bot can start a Project when you ask for one: a Cloud Agent that plans the work and runs its own agents.
  • Team Bots (0.61.0, September 26): publish one Bot for your whole team. Teammates chat with it in the app or Slack, each in their own conversation, and their use counts against their own allowance.
  • Shopify (October 8): connect a store, then ask the Bot to check orders, track inventory and update listings.
